Speaking to BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac last week, singer Lily Allen became the latest to take aim at Honey G.
Discussing cultural appropriation in the music industry, the Hard Out Here hitmaker told the radio station: “As far as I can tell she is a white lady that dresses up in Ali G, Goldie Lookin Chain kind of attire.
“She has done really well on X Factor and ITV is pouring money into her. I’m not black but I find it offensive.
"So wrong on so many levels, I can’t even start to talk about it.”
Now Honey G has hit back and taken aim at Lily in what's sure to be remembered as one of pop music's best ever feuds.
Honey G told The Sun newspaper of Lily and her comments: “She’s obviously feeling threatened by a white woman coming onto the scene and rapping and coming out and smashing it and shutting the whole thing down.
"I think she’s being spiteful and malicious. She’s got a sharp tongue. She’s obviously saying this type of thing out of spite - she’s being spiteful."
Honey G added: "I don’t see how she can say she finds it offensive. She’s not exactly the spokesperson of the black community. She better take her jealousy elsewhere.”
We await Lily's comeback...
For now, The X Factor 2016 is back this Saturday and Sunday night on ITV at 8PM with Disco week.
As well as new performances from the final seven acts, there will be guest appearances from Olly Murs and Nathan Sykes.
