X Factor 2016: Samantha Lavey hopes to duet with James Arthur if she makes the final

Samantha Lavery is hoping to duet with James Arthur if she makes The X Factor 2016 final.

The current contestant has raved about the 2012 winner who this week enjoyed a Number 1 comeback album.

Asked by The Sun who she wanted to duet with, Sam told the tabloid: “James Arthur because man crush to the hills.”

She gushed: “His music’s amazing by the way!

“I literally love him in every way, how he’s just come from the show, grown and now he’s back with a proper amazing song.

“I loved him in the show, his gruffness, his voice, so raw and so real.”

And - if Sam makes the final - it could well happen.

James previously revealed he is backing Sam and Simon Cowell's fellow Girls category singer Emily Middlemas to win the title.

"Sam Lavery is from the North East so I’m supporting her and Emily Middlemas," James told The Sun at the Pride of Britain awards last week.

He revealed: “I’ve got a lot of family there so I throw my hat in those rings, they’re both really good. It’s a good show this year.”

However James also tipped Honey G to potentially WIN the series.

"If Honey G is in the final, I bet everyone will be rooting for her, she’s very entertaining," he said.

Of course right now the final is still over a month away.

The X Factor 2016 is back this Saturday and Sunday night on ITV at 8PM with Disco week.

As well as new performances from the final seven acts, there will be guest appearances from Olly Murs and Nathan Sykes.
