X Factor's James Arthur set to duet with former mentor Nicole Scherzinger on new song

James Arthur has revealed plans to duet with former X Factor mentor Nicole Scherzinger on a new song.

The pair are set to record a new version of his track Let Me Love The Lonely from his new album Back From The Edge.

James told The Sun newspaper: "We had a session booked but she was unwell so we haven't done it yet. We originally got a girl in Poland to sing it. It went really well so we thought we should give Nicole a shout."

While James' comeback has proved a massive success, when he was writing his new music apparently no one wanted to know.

He confessed: "It was tough to get people involved in this one, because I don't think anyone expected me to come back.

"I was calling Ellie Goulding and Rita Ora, all these guys, saying, 'Do you want to sing this line?' but I got nothing."

Last Friday saw James' new album follow his recent Number 1 single to the top of the charts as his return showed no signs of slowing down.

According to the Official Charts Company, James' album was the week's biggest seller with 41,000 copies shifted and is the Official Number 1 record of the week.

And it's James first number 1 album ever; his X Factor debut charted at Number 2 back in 2013.

James told the Official Charts Company: "To have a body of work go to Number 1.... it's the ultimate sense of achievement. Thank you so much to everyone who has brought it."

The record was released by Simon Cowell's Syco label after James resigned three years on from being dropped following his X Factor win.
