The X Factor is said to be looking into problems with official 2016 app after Sunday night's results show.
The latest live elimination at the weekend was hit by a MAJOR technical hitch after the bottom three were revealed.
In Sunday evening's live show on ITV, Dermot O'Leary announced the trio of acts in the danger zone.
Samantha Lavery, Saara Aalto and Four Of Diamonds were in the bottom three.
They then faced the new twist with a second round of voting in the life line vote.
Fans had just 5 minutes to pick one of the bottom three to save in a free poll on the official X Factor app.
However many found the app just didn't work.
Twitter was full of complaints as the official app on at least Apple's iOS software reported problems.
While some people did managed to vote, others found that that the life line vote was closed before the problem was resolved.
"'The lifeline vote is now closed' It was never open for me! @TheXFactor #XFactor," wrote one fan.
There was no mention of any problems in the live show, as host Dermot O'Leary announced that Sam had topped the poll.
As a result, Four Of Diamonds and Saara went on to the sing-off where the girl group were eliminated.
Now according to the Evening Express, X Factor bosses have issued a statement.
An X Factor spokesman said: “We are aware there were some problems reported during the lifeline vote and we are looking into it.”
While some people couldn't vote, it's hard to see the issue having impacted the result: The Four Of Diamonds v Saara sing off was what was predicted even before the bottom 3 were announced.
Let's just hope it doesn't happen again when it might matter more...
The X Factor 2016 continues next Saturday and Sunday night on ITV at 8PM.
