X Factor's Sam Lavery is taking on a fun classic disco track this weekend.
The teenager is keen to bounce back from Sunday night's results show where she was in the bottom 3 for the first time this year.
Speaking to the Chronicle Live, Sam teased her song choice for this Saturday's disco theme and said she would be 'showing off some personality' with a classic, fun number.
“It has such a strong and powerful message behind it. I’m really excited," Sam said of her latest song selection, without revealing exactly what it is.
She continued: “The songs I’ve done so far have all been quite intense but this week I’ll be able to show some personality.
“I’m a wacky, fun girl and I’m getting to show that. I’m ready to bring some fierce attitude to the stage.”
Meanwhile, Sam spoke about how "gutted" she was to be in the elimination zone on Sunday night.
It was Sam's first time in danger but she avoided the sing-off after being saved by the public in the life line vote.
Sam recalled: “I went backstage and went through my save me song and Simon (Cowell) spoke to me and told me I’d be fine and that he believed me.
“Walking back out to hear the Lifeline result was awful but then to get the vote felt amazing. I can’t thank everyone enough for getting behind me.”
"The North East support has been insane and it means so much," Sam added.
The X Factor 2016 is back next Saturday and Sunday night on ITV at 8PM with Disco week.
As well as new performances from the final seven acts, there will be guest appearances from Olly Murs and Nathan Sykes.
