Honey G has hit back after being branded 'racist' following her latest X Factor performance.

It was Boy Band v Girl Band on Saturday evening's show and Honey G performed Jump by rap duo Kris Kross.

Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell were all on their feet after Honey G's latest song concluded.

Louis said it was Honey G's best performance so far while Nicole raved: "Girl, you shut it down tonight, you brought the house down."

Some viewers however were stunned by what they thought they heard.

"Honey G actually dropped the N bomb live on TV.." one viewer wrote on Twitter. Another added: "Did Honey G not just drop he N word lol? Eh did know one hear it? Cause I'm sure I'm not going crazy #HoneyG"

And a third ominously warned: "I don't care who you think you are or what platform you're on Using the N word is unacceptable Don't feel safe @The_Honey_G"

X Factor vocal coach Annabel Flowers was quick to confirm it was NOT what people were hearing.

"She did NOT say what you think," Annabel said.

Honey herself later took to Twitter to respond to the complaints.

“To be clear I did not use any offensive language. I sang the correct lyrics and said ‘kicking the flavor that makes you wanna jump’," she wrote.

Honey G then put a call out to her fans: “Thanks to everyone for all your incredible support, don’t forget to vote for Honey G, let’s go all the way to the X Factor final!”

And it seemed to work, with Honey G making it through last night's latest live results show.

The X Factor airs Saturday and Sunday nights on ITV.
