Emily Middlemas says she WILL finally perform an upbeat song on The X Factor 2016 this weekend.

However she has been saying the same thing for weeks now...

Emily previously revealed hopes to perform an uptempo number for divas week and finally being allowed to move.

"I've been stuck, the first one I was in a cage and the second one I was in a circle," Emily said of her first performances on the live shows.

However the teenager was again left glued to the spot with a slowed down cover of Whitney Houston's How Will I Know.

Chatting afterwards on Xtra Factor, Emily confessed it wasn't what she actually wanted.

"I really wanted to [sing an upbeat song] this week but I guess I kind of have to take Simon's words," Emily told hosts Matt Edmondson and Rylan Clark-Neal on ITV2's Xtra Factor last weekend.

On the Xtra Factor Sunday night, Rylan Clark-Neal jokingly branded Emily a "liar" after she again performed a slowed down number on Saturday for Girl Band v Boy Band week.

But she PROMISED to speed things up this weekend.

"I have to do it, tell Simon! I'm going to do it," Emily said after the latest theme was revealed as Disco week, before shaking Rylan's hand to promise it would happen.

Meanwhile, Emily revealed how she and boyfriend Ryan Lawrie went on a failed date during the week after cinema staff didn't believe they were over 15.

"[The film] was like for a 15 and the guy was like 'Where's your ID?' and we didn't get in because we looked less than 15! So we went for a walk and out for dinner but Ryan was like 'But I'm 20!'" Emily laughed.

The X Factor continues Saturday and Sunday nights on ITV.
