Four Of Diamonds and Saara Aalto being tipped for the chop in tonight 's X Factor 2016 results.

Last week Gifty Louise lost her place in the competition, following in the footsteps of Relley C, Freddy Parker and first eliminees of the series Bratavio as well as Brooks Way, who left the competition 'by mutual consent'.

That left us with eight singers in the running to be crowned The X Factor 2016 champion.

Performing last night live for the fifth time were Nicole Scherzinger's Boys - Matt Terry and Ryan Lawrie - and Simon Cowell's two Girls - Emily Middlemas and Samantha Lavery.

They're joined by Sharon Osbourne's remaining Overs - Honey G and Saara Aalto - and finally Louis Walsh's two Groups - 5 After Midnight and Four of Diamonds.

It was a girl band v boy band special where Four Of Diamonds performed Hold On.

However it's unlikely they will, made the favourites to appear in the sing-off for a third time running.

And Saara Aalto, who put on a wacky show with a Girls Aloud track, could join them for what would be her third time in the sing-off as well.

Of course who the judges' would save in that scenario remains to be seen...

Meanwhile, Ryan Lawrie is looking likely to join them in the bottom three. He's been saved against both in the life line vote before, and so would probably avoid the axe again.

If we do get a surprise in the bottom three, Sam Lavery would be the one to make an appearance with Honey G, Matt Terry, Emily Middlemas and 5 After Midnight all seemingly safe for another week.
