X Factor's Ryan Lawrie has hinted at tensions between him and the other contestants on the show.

The singer has been in the bottom three repeatedly but saved each time via the lifeline vote.

Last week saw Gifty Louise end up leaving the competition and Ryan got quite a bit of stick for it, despite it being the public who voted to save him over her.

In a VT on last night's show, Ryan opened up on the hate he had been getting from both viewers AND other acts.

"It really hurts. It makes me feel like I've done something wrong," he said. "Even in the X Factor house, I feel like some people would have preferred Gifty to still be here rather than me. It can be really tough."

"I just want this so much," Ryan continued. "This is my life. So tonight, I'm just going to take everything I have on stage, wrap it up in my heart and throw it out into the audience to show them just how much I want this."

Ryan went on to give his 'best performance yet' with a cover of Twist And Shout for Boy Band v Girl Band week.

He was then quizzed on his comments on the Xtra Factor in front of the other contestants.

"I feel like maybe people were closer to Gifty then they were me and that's why I feel they would rather me go than the other way around," he explained.

However Ryan quickly added: "But everyone's quite tight now."

Meanwhile, Ryan spoke out after a bit of a Twitter spat with Michelle Heaton.

He said: "I got a tweet from one of the girls from Liberty X saying 'I don't know why people are voting for Ryan...', something about being disgraceful or something like that.

"I just thought a cheeky little comment back to get the social media going, so I was like 'I've got a bigger fanbase than you babe'"
