The X Factor 2016 judges have come under attack for again heaping praise on Honey G.

It was Boy Band v Girl Band on tonight's show and Honey G performed Kris Kross' Jump.

While many viewers branded the performance "awful" and "rubbish", the judges loved it.

Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell were on all their feet after Honey G's latest song concluded.

Louis said it was Honey G's best performance so far while Nicole raved: "Girl, you shut it down tonight, you brought the house down."

She added: "Tonight you have earned my respect, all the hard work you are putting in is paying off. That was crazy!"

Simon commented: "That is why the show is called The X Factor. On paper this should not work, every week I keep thinking it is going to end.

"Once again you stepped up, Honey. There are so many people getting their knickers in a twist over you but music can be fun.

"You are fun and entertaining and one of the nicest contestants we have ever had on this show."

On Twitter, many weren't impressed with the gushing comments coming just after the panel criticised by Sam Lavery and Matt Terry for their latest performances.

"The only thing that annoys me about Honey G, other than her being untalented and a joke, is that the judges keep indulging her! #XFactor," one viewer wrote.

Another agreed: "Dunno how the other acts feel but would deffo be pissed if all the judges did a standing ovation for Honey G but not for me pal."

"Do not understand at all how the judges can stand up for Honey G when they don't stand for the other amazing acts," a third wrote online.

And a fourth posted on Twitter: "what are the X Factor judges being blackmailed with to say such positive things about Honey G? She delegitimizes the whole "competition""
