Professor Green SLAMS The X Factor 2016's Honey G: "She's taking the mickey"

Professor Green has become the latest famous face to SLAM The X Factor 2016 contestant Honey G.

Honey describes herself as a "genuine urban artist", and even claimed to be the UK's best rapper on Saturday's live show.

However, 'Read All About It' star Professor Green isn't buying in to her act, accusing her of making a mockery of hip hop.

Speaking on last night's Xtra Factor, he said: "I don't think Honey G is the best rapper in the world.

"I'm going to say no, I don't think she should be in the competition. If we're being real honest, I think she's taking the right mickey out of rap. I feel like it's a bit of an injustice.

"I know it's an entertainment show, but music is at the core of it. Come on, we've had brilliant people win this."

Green's view may not be unanimous among the world of rap, however. Honey has reportedly received support from 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg.

Despite the mounting backlash against her, Honey remains popular with viewers. She survived the Halloween week public vote last night, and has yet to place in the bottom three.

Last week Honey - real name Anna Georgette Gilford - hit back at her 'haters' on This Morning, saying: "They need to check themselves because they literally mean nothing to me."

The X Factor continues on Saturday at 8.00pm on ITV with a Girlbands vs. Boybands theme.
