X Factor's Samantha Lavery has hit back at her ex-boyfriend after she was accused of dumping him via text.
Acea Brabrook had said the pair were together before Sam called time on the relationship earlier this year.
He claimed that Sam dumped him before the live shows, saying last week: “We had talked about the future, we had plans to deal with the fame and the stardom.
“She promised it wouldn’t change her."
However he alleged that those plans quickly changed with Sam splitting up with him via text.
He told The Sun newspaper: “If she had crashed and burned she would have come back up north and we would have carried on dating.
“But she is making a success of it, so now I’m history."
Sam hit back this weekend, saying: "I was more shocked by Acea’s story rather than hurt or angry.
"It’s just such a shame he felt he had to do that."
And she told the Daily Star on Sunday newspaper that the pair agreed mutually to end the relationship.
"We agreed over text messages it was the best for both of us," the talented teenager said.
The couple's split followed claims that Sam had been getting 'close' with one of her fellow X Factor finalists.
Sam's ex Acea commented on reports linking her to fellow X Factor contestant Nathan Lewis, of boy band 5 After Midnight.
“She has a new love in her life — and that new love is X Factor," he said. “And it appears she may have a second new love, a fellow pop star.”
It was reported last weekend that Sam and Nathan had been caught 'getting cosy in a cupboard' backstage on the show.
Sam insisted she was 100% single last week, saying: "I just want to concentrate on this journey. Boyfriends aren't really on my mind."
A spokesperson for The X Factor stated that there was nothing between Sam and Nathan, saying they were "close, but just friends".
