X Factor love birds Ryan Lawrie and Emily Middlemas have opened up about their relationship.
The Scottish singers have been friends for years but they only got together eight months ago.
“We met on the music scene in Glasgow about three years ago, although we've only been a couple for eight months," Emily said. "We’d always speak to each other after shows, but I was so nervous around Ryan that I could barely have a conversation with him."
Ryan laughed: “I would ask her out all the time but she would always say she was busy. I know now it’s because she was so scared!’
In a joint interview, the pair revealed they ruled out auditioning for the show as a duo.
Ryan explained: "We've sung together a bit in the past but just for fun. We're very different artists so I don't think it would work."
Now both living together for The X Factor, Ryan admitted: "We went from seeing each other every day to living together, but it hasn't been too intense."
"We're both conscious of getting to know the other contestants and not rubbing our relationship in their faces," he added.
Emily said: "We cuddle up to each other if we're chilling in the living room, but everyone sits around hugging - we're all like a big family."
While Emily has so far avoided the sing-off, Ryan has been in the danger zone twice now and that's been as nerve-wracking for Emily as it has been for him.
She told OK! magazine: "There was an advert break before finding out if he's made it through and I was crying my eyes out the whole time. The minute his name was called out I let out the biggest sigh of relief."
But what happens if they ever end up in the sing-off together?
The couple vowed to just "treat it as just another performance and do our best", insisting that they'd be happy for whoever stayed in the competition.
The X Factor is back this Saturday and Sunday night on ITV at 8PM.
It's Halloween weekend and there will be a guest performance from reigning winner Louisa Johnson.
