X Factor 2016 gets Ofcom complaints over Gifty Louise's F-bomb

5 viewers have made official complaints about last night's X Factor F-bomb.

Finalist Gifty Louise shouted the expletive in Sunday's live episode as the elimination results were announced.

Yesterday evening saw the latest live show and it was Relley C who left The X Factor last night and bowed out of the competition.

She was eliminated in the sing off against Four Of Diamonds, while Ryan Lawrie was saved from the bottom three (again) thanks to the new 'life line' vote twist.

In Sunday evening's live show on ITV, Dermot O'Leary began as usual by announcing the trio of acts in the danger zone.

First to be called safe was Samantha Lavery, prompting Gifty to shout "F**king told you!", which was caught on one of the many microphones in the studio.

Host Dermot O'Leary was quick to issue an on air apology over the language, which aired before the 9PM watershed.

"You may have just heard some inappropriate language, we deeply apologise," Dermot said to cameras. “As you can imagine tensions are high.”

But it wasn't enough for some viewers with 5 taking the time to complain to TV watchdog Ofcom.

A spokesperson for the regulator said tonight: "We've had five complaints about this. We will assess these complaints before deciding whether to investigate or not."

After the results show yesterday Gifty laughed off the incident and tweeted: "I didn't even notice I did it 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂"

The X Factor is back next Saturday and Sunday night on ITV at 8PM.

It's Halloween weekend and there will be a guest performance from reigning winner Louisa Johnson.
