The X Factor's latest results show was down in viewers on last weekend.
Strictly Come Dancing meanwhile added a hefty 600,000 viewers to last Sunday's results.
On BBC One last night, 9.9 million tuned from 7:15PM for the pre-recorded Strictly show, a smidgen down on Saturday's live figure of 10.1 million.
As well as being well up on last week, Strictly's numbers are 1.3 million viewers up on 2015's equivalent show and 400,000 up on 2014.
The X Factor meanwhile had 6.5 million viewers between 8PM and 9PM, a decline of 200,000 week-on-week. As usual it was up on Saturday's performances, which had 5.9 million viewers.
Compared to 2015's equivalent show (which had aired in November), X Factor was down 800,000 viewers and last night's viewing figures were 1.3 million below 2014's level.
The X Factor peaked with an audience of 7.5 million when the actual result was announced while Strictly achieved a high of 10.6 million for the dance off.
Before The X Factor, Celebrity Chase had a solid 3 million viewers while afterwards new ITV drama Tutunkhamun dropped to 3.7 million from last Sunday's premiere of 4.5 million viewers.
On BBC One, Poldark continued steady with 5 million while earlier in the evening a Countryfile Autumn Special averaged over 7 million viewers.
