Simon Cowell has reportedly blocked Niall Horan from appearing on The X Factor this year.
The One Direction singer has supposedly been 'banned' from promoting his new solo single on the show.
It's after Niall snubbed Simon and his Syco record label to release the song, instead signing to a rival company.
“Niall hasn’t been invited to sing on any of the remaining live shows, despite having a big release," a source claimed. “That’s not an oversight from the bookings team, it’s intentional."
The insider added to The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “Simon really thought the 1D boys would show loyalty after he mentored them on the show and made them the huge global success they are. Instead they went behind his back.
“He’s not going to do them any favours. He knows artists love performing on the show as there are eight million viewers to promote their songs to.
However a source 'close to Niall' responded to the claims by saying that his team didn't really mind.
“They knew when he didn’t sign with Syco he wouldn’t be appearing on The X Factor. Everyone is totally fine," they told the tabloid. “He’s extremely proud and grateful for everything The X Factor did for him.”
Niall's This Town peaked at Number 9 in the UK charts last month.
Simon himself previously spoke out about being passed over for 1D's solo projects.
"I hear so many things now, which they’re doing, which I’m not involved with," he was quoted as saying last month. “It’s a bit like I’m getting the hint you don’t want me to come to the party. Sorry for making you famous…”:
Chatting at the final of America's Got Talent, the music mogul went on: "Look, I'm not going to lie when I hear they're doing something, and they haven't approached me.
"You think, 'Well I would have liked you to,' but it's their choice. I'm not bitter - much."
