Little Mix have beaten fellow X Factor winner James Arthur to Number 1 this week.

The group land straight in at the top spot on this week’s Official Singles Chart with Shout Out To My Ex.

The song racked up an impressive 95,000 combined chart sales, according to Official Charts Company data, to take the top spot this week following the group’s show-stopping performance of the song on last Sunday’s X Factor results show.

Even more impressive when you consider every other song on the charts had a 3 day head-start on the group, with Shout Out To My Ex only released on Sunday evening.

Little Mix told OfficialCharts.com today: “We want to say a massive thank you for getting us here!

"Everyone can relate to this song. Everyone’s had an ex or a bad relationship and this is a big positive break-up anthem.”

Shout Out To My Ex is Little Mix’s fourth Number 1 track following X Factor winner's song Cannonball, follow up track Wings and last year's Black Magic.

It's the third British Number 1 single this year following 1D's Zayn Malik and James Arthur, who drops down to Number 2 this week with Say You Won't Let Go.

Elsewhere in the Top 40, American X Factor girl group Fifth Harmony are at Number 31 with That’s My Girl after they made an appearance (but didn't perform) in Saturday's show.
