X Factor duo Brooks Way have said 'sorry' after being kicked off the show.
The pair - made up of twin brothers Josh and Kyle - were suspended ahead of last weekend's first live performance and it was confirmed on Monday that they had left the contest.
ITV said in a statement that Brooks Way had decided to leave the competition by "mutual consent" after meeting producers.
It's understood that their initial suspension followed allegations made against Josh about his behaviour in a former relationship.
"From the bottom of my heart, I am really, really sorry," Josh said this weekend. “My relationship with [my ex-girlfriend] had become really volatile and toxic."
Josh denied ever hitting her, but did say one situation between the couple got "really hostile."
“I understand it is totally out of order and I’m really, really sorry that I didn’t walk away," Josh explained. “I allowed things to get to that point and it’s not acceptable."
The 17-year-old went on to say he felt bad for brother Kyle and their nan, who looks after the pair.
“I’ve let them all down and I take responsibility for that," he told The Sun on Sunday.
Conceeding he "needed to speak to someone", Josh concluded: “I need help to understand this situation and move forward. I know there’s nothing I can do to change the past.
“But I have learned a very important lesson that’ll stick with me for the rest of my life."
In a string of messages on Twitter tonight, Brooks Way spoke out again after the latest X Factor live show.
"The press will always try and lie and back there stories up," the posts began. "Not once did Josh admit to attacking anyone. He admitted and apologised for the stupid things he said and letting the relationship become so volatile when they were younger.
"Josh is sincerely apologetic for the things he's done. And takes full responsibility, but not once did josh use his fists against anyone. And in my opinion...no person needs to explain themselves for mistakes they made when they were a child - Kyle."
Brooks Way were replaced by Four Of Diamonds on The X Factor who performed live for the first time last night.
