X Factor's Louis Walsh has admitted he's not keen on girl groups.

It certainly explains his original all male line up for the live shows - but is sure to make things a tad awkward for 4 Of Diamonds.

The all female four piece have joined this year's live shows after Brooks Way made an unplanned exit, failing to perform at the first live show.

Chatting to Yahoo! Celeb UK, Louis confessed: "I don't particularly like working with girlbands because it's very hard to find a girlband that all get on."

However Louis reckons 4 of Diamonds might be different.

He said: "These four seem like really good friends, and we picked our song for Saturday. The theme is Motown. I'm very glad that I have them now.

"I did love Four of Diamonds, and if I could have picked a fourth act, I would have picked them anyway. These girls are really good. Honestly, I'm really happy with the two groups that I have."

Speaking about their return to the show earlier this week, Four Of Diamonds said: "We are so excited to be back on The X Factor.

"We’re really looking forward to performing live, working hard and showing everyone what we’re made of."

Each of the girls hails from a different part of the UK; Caroline (19) is from London and has been studying Commercial Music at University; Lauren (21) is from Surrey and has been working part-time in a supermarket and teaching dance; Yasmin (17) from Manchester has been studying a music course and Sophia (19) from Birmingham has been studying Bio-Veterinary Science at University.

It was revealed this week that the four girls had in fact been put together by the show.

An X Factor rep explained: "Applications for the series can and do take place up until the very last days of judge auditions but anyone entering last minute goes through the same process as all other acts.

"Four of Diamonds did all apply for the show as soloists but didn't make it past the first stage. They were then invited to take part in a workshop to form a group, the group then had to apply again to enter the show."

The X Factor goes live this Saturday and Sunday night on ITV.
