X Factor's Honey G has been branded a 'FAKE"' by a former friend.
It's alleged that Honey G - real name Anna Georgette Gilford - is even putting on a fake voice as part of her act.
Honey G from North West London - aka North Weezy - brought her unique version of Missy Elliott's Work It to the Room Auditions earlier this year.
The performer described herself as a "genuine urban artist" who was "representing for The X Factor massive."
But former University pal Stephanie Jones has claimed the 'real Anna' is NOTHING like Honey G.
"The kind of person she was was very very switched on. There was none of this urban street persona – she was… a smart student…" she told The Sun newspaper.
Stephanie is quoted as telling the tabloid: "She is actually really well spoken. She’s from a really decent background – she didn’t speak like that before…”
She added: "It's all an act... I think it's just a joke and maybe it's got out of hand and she's got through first and second rounds... This a complete sham."
Now in the live shows, it was revealed last week that Honey G hasn't always been trying to crack the charts.
The 35-year-old runs an IT recruitment firm as her day to day job but admitted business wasn't going great.
"I have a lot of tax that I pay and I owe some money to a few businesses and advertising companies. I sometimes struggle to put food on the table and I don’t have many savings either," Honey G explained. "There is a chance that I will possibly go bust in the next couple of months, so this X Factor opportunity means everything to me."
However she insisted it wasn't an act.
She explained "I am not a joke. I have been a musician my whole life. I’m a heavyweight producer, I’m not a bedroom producer. I’m the finished article and I’m no different to the likes of Pharrell or Jay-Z.
"I find it quite insulting that people would think I am a novelty act, but maybe people have a problem with a white woman rapping."
The X Factor is back this Saturday and Sunday night on ITV.
