X Factor 2016 results! Freddy Parker saved from the bottom three after new 'life line vote'

Tonight's X Factor 2016 results

Freddy Parker has been saved from the axe in tonight's X Factor 2016 results.

However Saara Alto and Bratavio remain in danger of going.

12 contestants made it through to this year's live shows and last night was the first round of performances.

Simon Cowell is mentoring the Girls category made up of Emily Middlemas, Gifty Louise and Samantha Lavery. Nicole is keeping the Boys in check with Freddy Parker, Matt Terry and Ryan Lawrie in her category.

Sharon has the Overs - Honey G, Relley C and Saara Aalto - and Louis has the groups - Bratavio and 5 After Midnight.

However Brooks Way did not perform last night due to 'unforeseen circumstances' and have since been AXED from the show altogether.

But Brooks Way's exit doesn't mean no elimination tonight.

Once voting closed in this evening's results show, the bottom three were revealed.

Host Dermot O'Leary called out the names of the safe singers before announcing that Saara Aalto, Bratavio and Freddy Parker had the fewest votes (in no particular order).

The trio then faced a new twist with a second round of voting.

Fans had just 5 minutes to vote to save one of the bottom three in a free poll on the official X Factor app.

As the one with the most votes, Freddy was saved from elimination and will head straight through to next weekend.

However Saara and Bratavio will now have to perform again for the judges in the sing-off where one will be heading home.
