Louis Walsh has explained just why he said NO to 4 of Diamonds on The X Factor 2016.
This weekend was judges' houses as Louis picked his finalists for the live shows in the Groups category.
A total of seven acts performed for Louis and his guest judges Alesha Dixon and Fleur East in Ibiza.
But for four it was bad news as Skarl3t, Four of Diamonds, Yes Lad, and Tom and Laura were all sent home by the Irish judge.
On the other hand, Louis said yes to Bradley and Ottavio, The Brooks and 5AM who are now all in the live shows of The X Factor 2016.
Over on Twitter as the show aired, viewers made their opinions felt especially over Louis' female-free line up.
Defending his choices, Louis said: "You have no idea how though it was. It was really, really hard.
"5AM was an easy one but all the other acts had something to give."
Speaking about 4 Of Diamonds in particular, Louis said: "I know I'm going to get a lot of slack for the girls. I think if they come back next year they're going to be even better.
"I liked them but I thought they'd have gone week one or two.
"I really liked them, but I think they could be even more amazing next year."
Louis continued: "Tom and Laura were great too, but I don't think X Factor's the show for them. I loved their voices.
"I was thinking who was going to really well on the live shows. I know everyone's not going to love Bradley and Ottavio. I know it's risk... but people are talking about then, you'll remember them. They're different. There is an audience for them."
The X Factor 2016 returns Sunday night with the Boys and Overs judges' houses.
