Ivy Grace Paredes has revealed the real reason she was forced to leave The X Factor 2016.
Ivy NAILED her Six Chair Challenge performance to win a seat in the final six of the Overs category on Sunday evening.
The 33 year-old singer from the Philippines belted out Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing to wow the judges.
But visa problems forced her to withdraw from the competition when it came to judges' houses. A spokesperson for the show said: "As with all contestants travelling to the US for Judges Houses, Ivy was required to have a visa.
"Unfortunately there was an issue with her application being approved which meant that she was not granted a visa in time and sadly had to withdraw from the competition."
Now Ivy has spoken up to reveal what really went on and it is quite heartbreaking.
One of the favourites to win, Ivy has denied claims that the US had refused to issue her a visa.
Rather she had simply ticked the wrong box on her visa application. As a result, Ivy mistakenly selected the wrong category, causing a delay in processing.
Ivy explained: “The US embassy officer said there's no problem with my papers, but I applied in the wrong visa category.
"So I asked if I’m denied, the officer said no, you are not actually denied. He said 'I advise that you apply for an artist visa instead.'"
She added: "The process took 3 to 4 days and the X Factor team had to travel in two days."
In a post on Facebook, Ivy went on to thank the show and judges.
She wrote: "To the X Factor UK; especially to my mentor Sharon Osbourne for her unfailing support, Simon Cowell for the opportunity which millions did not have… the chance to hug you; thank you very much! You changed my life…"
With Ivy out of the competition, Overs mentor Sharon therefore had a free spot in her category and decided to invite back Honey G.
She'll now be competing for a place in the live shows alongside, Samantha Atkinson, James Wilson, Relley C, Christopher Peyton and Janet Grogan.
The X Factor 2016 airs this Saturday and Sunday night on ITV.
