How do judges' houses work?

Usually each act will perform twice for the judges (although only one performance is one is actually shown on the main show).

Each judge will then confer with their guest mentors before deciding on the three they want to take through to the live shows.

One by one, each act will be informed of the choice in what's sure to be a very tear filled ten minutes of telly.

What happens next?

It's TIME TO FACE THE MUSIC with the live shows. The twelve finalists will perform head to head and the public will decide who stays.

The X Factor airs this Saturday and Sunday on ITV.
