X Factor winner James Arthur is currently at Number 1 in the official chart in today's midweeks.
After hitting the top spot on iTunes last week, James has had to settle for Number 2 in this week's Official Top 40 with his comeback track last Friday.
But the song has continued to climb and right now is sitting at the top spot.
Following time away from the spotlight, James released new track Say You Won’t Let Go earlier this month and it's now set to become his first chart topper since winner's single Impossible.
James told OfficialCharts.com of the track’s success: "It's literally insane. It’s such a whirlwind and I don’t think it has actually sunk in yet.
"The success of this song has gone way beyond my expectations and I am so grateful that people have connected with it.”
James originally joined Simon Cowell's Syco label after winning the ITV talent contest in 2012, with his self-titled debut album charting at number 2 - but several controversies led to him being axed in 2014 after only one album.
However it was revealed last weekend that he is now once again signed to Simon's record label.
The 28-year-old has come full circle, as Syco confirmed that he is back on their roster of artists, the first time an X Factor winner has returned to the label.
"We can confirm that James Arthur is now once again signed to Syco Music in the UK," a spokesperson said. "We are delighted to welcome him back into the Syco fold."
Syco - which is co-owned by Columbia's parent firm Sony - will now release James's new album 'Back From The Edge', which is due out in November.
