The X Factor 2016 ratings dipped yesterday, dropping almost a million viewers overnight.
While an average audience of 7.7 million viewers watched the final auditions on Saturday evening, Sunday night's bootcamp show was seen by an average of 6.8 million, down 500,000 viewers on last year.
However the earlier start may have caught people out as the 90 minute special saw ratings climb from 5 million to 7 million between 7:30PM and 8PM.
Before X Factor, a celebrity special of The Chase had 2.7 million viewers while afterwards, Victoria continued with 5.3 million, again leading Poldark on BBC One which had 4.7 million watching.
Over on Channel 4 in the 9PM hour, Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls debuted to 2.3 million viewers for the first episode of the four part charity special.
