Kirsty Murphy has won a spot at X Factor 2016 bootcamp despite breaking in the auditions room to sing.

The 21 year-old dance teacher from Wirral mad herself known to the judges by bursting into another act's audition this evening after being told by producers she wouldn't be seen.

"I really want to sing to you guys and they're saying they've got no time for me to sing," she sobbed. "I know you want a fighter and I'm here to fight."

Simon Cowell reacted: "There's an X, sing."

Kirsty performed Alicia Keys' If I Ain’t Got You in her impromptu audition as Simon remarked: "You've got balls."

"I just had to do it," replied Kirsty with mascara pouring down her face

Louis Walsh commented: "Sometimes people just need a break so I'm going to say yes."

However Sharon Osbourne said no: "You've got really bad pitching problems."

Nicole Scherziner also gave Kirsty the thumbs up, just: "You've got balls and you're hungry... but you have to work on your voice."

Finally, Simon gave Kirsty her much needed third yes: "For sheer determination, I'm going to say yes."

Following the incident, Sharon admitted: “When she first came in I was a bit frightened actually. She walked in and came right over to the desk and I was thinking, ‘Oh my god, alert, alert!’. But she was ballsy! It takes a lot to do that.”

As for her Kirsty herself, she defended her actions: "It was a long day of auditions and I had been there since the morning. It was nearly midnight and one of the team said that unfortunately there was no time to see me today and that they would try and reschedule my audition for one of the London dates.

"At first I thought that was fine but then I was with my mum and we saw a door labelled ‘Judges Room’ in front of us. Mum asked what I was going to do. I’d already seen the judges do a speech that day about what they wanted to see and I was excited to audition.

"I had been waiting for years to perform in front of Simon. I had seen him in the other room earlier in the day and I just wanted to do it, to sing and prove myself. I said to my mum ‘I’m just going to go in there’ and at first she was shocked and said ‘no you can’t!’ but then she switched and said, ‘Yes you can, get in!’ and she actually pushed me in."

The X Factor continues Sunday night on ITV with a bumper bootcamp special at the earlier time of 7:30PM.
