Mike is a 25 year-old part-time charity worker and musician from Essex.
Mike said on this evening's episode: "I love the show, I'm a fan of the show and it's always been a dream. I'm a part time musician and I want to be full time, I want it to be my life, "
On The X Factor tonight, Mike revealed how he started singing on YouTube and got as far as getting a Mobo nomination after releasing a single independently, quipping his claim to fame is losing to Adele.
However a major record deal hasn't come, with Mike saying he's always been 'so close but never there'.
His biggest fan is his mum - who even has a TATTOO dedicated to him - and she was waiting outside with host Dermot O'Leary.
"You see the success of Little Mix, Ella Henderson, Leona Lewis... this is my time to be in the lime light," said Mike.
Singing Alanis Morissette's Ironic in the judges' audition room, this could be Mike's big shot once and for all.
Nicole Scherzinger reacted: "Kinda blown away by your voice, it's kinda stupid in a really kinda good way. You're the best audition we've had today."
Simon Cowell said: "I like the fact you did something unusual with the track and I think what we're looking for on this show is someone who's prepared to take risks, combined with the fact I like your personality, that was a great audition."
Sharon Osbourne described Mike's audition was a "pleasant surprise" while Louise Walsh branded it "authentic".
With four yeses, Mike is through to bootcamp but can he get through to the six chair challenge?
