X Factor singer Rebekah Ryan was arrested after a fight following her audition, it's been reported.
Rebekah had wowed the judges earlier this month with an emotional performance of Sarah McLachlan’s Angels after speaking about her late son.
"I felt every word of that Rebekah, I really did," said Simon Cowell after the performance. "What you told me was very emotional, it was like watching you struggle with the song and every step of the way we were with you.
"You’re the kind of person I think is important to this competition because you need a break."
Sharon Osbourne was also moved by the performance, gushing: "You came from an place of emotion, and when you started to tell your story… you’re gonna start me."
Today The Sun newspaper reports that shortly after the audition aired, Rebekah was involved in an altercation in which she is alleged to have attacked another woman.
A police spokesperson told the tabloid: "We were called at 7.15pm on Sunday, September 11 to reports of an assault outside the Fox Inn in Tamworth.
"A 29-year-old woman from Tamworth suffered swelling to her eye after she was punched in the face.
"A 40-year-old woman was arrested and given a conditional caution for assault by beating."
It's understood that the woman Rebekah is supposed to have hit is her former partner's new girlfriend, following a row between Rebekah and her ex over their son.
"Rebekah knows it’s no excuse but the circumstances around the weekend were a culmination of personal issues with those involved," a source close to Rebekah told the Daily Mirror newspaper. "She does regret hitting her and wants to put the issue behind her."
