X Factor goes all Hunger Games with new boot camp twist

X Factor 2016 bootcamp twist

The X Factor 2016 contestants will face a Hunger Games style twist this weekend.

It's Boot Camp on Sunday night as all the successful auditionees are through their paces, having to perform once again for the judges in a series of dancing and singing challenges.

In one of the singing challenges, the group is faced with a 'wall of songs', a range of song choices written on pieces of paper and attached to a wall.

The songs range from classic hits - such as Stevie Wonder's Superstition and Ain't No Mountain High Enough - to more recent chart toppers, including as Lukas Graham's 7 Years and Justin Timberlake's Can't Stop The Feeling.

More bootcamp song choices are R Kelly's Ignition, Taylor Swift's Style, Jessie J's Flashlight and the Black Street Boys' I Want It That Way.

The singers will have to race to the wall and fight it out for the song they want but that's not quite the full story.

Each song choice appears three times and the acts that pick the same song will be put together as a group to perform for the judges.

Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh will judge the acts as they decide who will earn a coveted place at the Six Chair Challenge and be one step closer to being crowned The X Factor 2016 winner.

"It can or make or break you," warns Sharon to the acts.

Simon declares: "I don't care how little time you've had to prepare... guess what's going to happen tomorrow? Goodbye."

Host Dermot O'Leary is of course on hand to guide us through it all and give out those much needed Dermot hugs.

The X Factor 2016 continues with a bumper bootcamp episode on Sunday night from the earlier time of 7:30PM.
