The X Factor 2016 is looking set to be the year of the comeback with many of those in bootcamp there not for the first time.
Last weekend alone saw SEVEN acts auditioning for the judges for at least the second occasion, although the past of not all of their pasts were referenced.
Acts who made a return included The Brooks, who made judges' houses in 2014, Gifty Louise, who got as far as bootcamp last year and Anelisa Lamola, who first appeared in 2007's series.
Other former acts included Faye Horne who got through to bootcamp five years ago when she sang for Louis Walsh as part of the 2011 judges line up back when Gary Barlow was on the panel alongside Kelly Rowland and Tulisa.
Also returning at the weekend was Jamuna Gibbs who previously performed for the judges in 2012 while both Aeron Smith and Girl Next Door auditioned in 2015 like Gifty.
Going back earlier in this year's series, more returning acts are Caitlyn Vanbeck, Niall Sexton, Emily Middlemas, Ottavio Columbro, Eddie Lee and Janet Grogan.
One of this year's contestants is back having even got to the live shows: Bradley Johnson, who is through to bootcamp, auditioned back in 2011. He performed as a soloist but ended up becoming part of new group Nu Vibe who made the finals in Tulisa's category alongside Little Mix.
However while Little Mix went on to win, and have enjoyed huge success afterwards, Nu Vibe bowed out in week two and split soon after.
There are no rules stopping acts from returning and over the years many of the best contestants have been those giving it their second shot.
Alexandra Burke of course WON the show in 2008 after being sent home at judges' houses in 2005 and Fleur East was runner up of her year after making the live shows of series two as part of girl group Addictiv Ladies.
And arguably, the reason why many of the acts are back is because the past judges have made some rather dodgy mistakes. Let's not forget how amazing Emily was in 2014.
