Anelisa Lamola has sailed through to Bootcamp on The X Factor 2016 in tonight's auditions.

The singer wowed the judges with Nicole Scherzinger comparing her to Adele, saying: "You have the best voice I've heard in the competition".

Anelisa is no stranger to the show, having taken part in the 2007 series as a 17-year-old - but although Simon Cowell said her audition was "incredible", she was sent home at a later stage after suffering a knock to her confidence.

Almost a DECADE later, she has returned for a second shot, saying: "Coming back is a lot of pressure, especially after these many years. The biggest question is gonna be, 'is she better?'"

The barmaid, now 26, sang Aretha Franklin's '(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman', winning a round of applause from the judges and the crowd in the holding room.

"I loved your voice then, I love it now," said Sharon, with Louis Walsh agreeing: "I like you because you’re bubbly and you’re happy."

"You have a real talent, I think you were right to come back," added Simon. "It’s more than just a good voice, you have an amazing recording voice."

However, the highest praise came from Nicole. "I am so happy that you came back," she said.

"Your voice is soulful and classic, and especially with women like Adele out who are singing real, timeless songs, you could make a beautiful record. For me you have the best voice in the entire competition that I’ve heard."

Anelisa left with four yesses, saying in the Pod: "I am not having history repeat itself. I am going to go and win this competition."

Meanwhile, Sharon compared notes with the panel, saying: "She’s got the built-in soul with her voice. So many times these kids try to get it so desperately. She’s just got it, natural."

The X Factor continues next Saturday at 8.00pm and Sunday at 7.30pm on ITV.
