Last night's X Factor ratings saw a dip as viewing figures dropped back below 2015's level.

The fifth round of auditions yesterday evening averaged 7.4 million viewers, down 500,000 on last year's figure and 1.5 million below 2014's equivalent show.

It's also down almost a million viewers on last Saturday but is well up on the launch show back in August.

Despite the drops, The X Factor was still easily the most watched show last night as the auditions peaked with an audience of 8.4 million.

Elsewhere on ITV, new talent show hosted by Stephen Mulhern Go For It scored 2.8 million viewers, the same as Newzoids, while Jonathan Ross returned with 2.2 million.

On ITV2, The Xtra Factor live continued with 440,000 viewers between 9PM and 10PM.

Over on BBC One and Casualty was watched by 3.9 million viewers, the second most watched show of the evening some way behind The X Factor.

The X Factor continues tonight on ITV at 8PM.
