Last year's BBUK contestant previously appeared in front of the judges in 2014 but didn't get through at the arena half of the auditions.
Returning to try out again earlier this year, Sam tweeted back in April: "Got my tiny guns out today for yet again another X factor audition"
She added: "going for a laugh and Cheryl's not there"
Sam had clashed with Cheryl during her short time on The X Factor two years ago so it's no surprise to learn she's happy that the Girls Aloud star has already confirmed her exit from the show.
"I could sense it at the time that she just wanted to be famous," Cheryl previously said of Sam. "If you just want to be famous then this is not the show for you, this is hard work. You have to want to be a pop star."
The now former X Factor judge recalled: "She [first] auditioned for us in Edinburgh last year and I just knew it wasn’t real, she was trying to be kooky.
"It’s a shame because some people queue up for days and dream about it for years and years, they get turned away because maybe they were too nervous on the day of auditions previous to seeing us.
"And then there’s someone like her who just wants to be a known person, I do get a little bit annoyed, especially when people get defensive when you’re just trying to talk to them. I’m getting a bit long in the tooth for it!"
Sam tweeted that she had got through to the next stage, writing online: "Yeyyyy we gotz through!! "fun fun fun""
However Sam didn't get to sing for the judges for a second time.
She wrote this week: "they pulled me and my mate out because I've done big brother and it's not fair to the other contestants as I had an advantage"
The X Factor continues tonight at 8PM On ITV.
