Mel B was drafted in as a guest judge earlier this year to stand in for Nicole at some of the try outs in the capital while filming took place for the room auditions back in the summer.
In tonight's show the former Spice Girl will be joined by Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh on the panel for what will be her third appearance on The X Factor.
Mel was previously a guest judge during auditions in 2012 and also appeared as a full time judge for the 2014 series.
In a first look at tonight's show (below), Mel makes a trademark understated entrance as she joins the panel in London.
"I'm looking forward to that one contestant who is giving it their all. If they haven't got what it takes, don't wast my time," she tells cameras.
Mel then chats with Louis: "I expect good people, I haven't flown over here for nothing."
Simon then quips: "I know that, I got the bill!"
Elsewhere in the show tonight, Mel adds another Spice Girl to the mix as Geri Halliwell joins the show via FaceTime.
It prompts Simon Cowell to joke to Geri in front of Mel: "When we do the booking next time and I ask for the fun one, what do I need to do to make sure I get you?"
