X Factor singer Janet Grogan has compared coming face to face with Simon Cowell again to seeing an ex.
In Saturday night's show, Janet returned to storm the auditions as Simon Cowell admitted he was wrong to send her home from The X Factor back in 2014.
Janet, a 28 year-old lifeguard from Ireland, and got as far as Simon’s Six Chair Challenge two years ago in the Overs category.
Following the show airing, Simon admitted in a tweet at the time: "I should have kept Janet. My mistake."
"It was devastating I feel like I let my family down," recalled Janet of the rejection in tonight's show. "After I went home, I wasn't singing any more, that was it, but then Simon sent out a tweet. At first I was mad, but then it's not every day Simon Cowell admits he made a mistake."
As Janet introduced herself to the panel on the show at the weekend, Simon said: "I can admit my mistakes and I always hoped you'd walk back into the audition room."
After singing Zayn Malik's Pillowtalk, Janet left Simon in no doubt he should have kept her in 2014: "You're more confident, your voice is stunning, I'm excited, you're the best we've had all day."
Now speaking to the X Factor website at ITV.com, Janet has reflected on her audition and seeing Simon again.
She said: "It's like when you see an ex after a really long time. But it was more pleasant than I thought it was going to be. I was a little bit worried that he wouldn't remember who I was... but then, when I walked in the room he remembered exactly who I was, so that was nice!
"I was more nervous about Sharon and Nicole, because they'd never seen me before."
It's not just the judges that loved Janet's audition and the Dublin based singer admitted: "I'm surprised by the reaction. A lot of people said they were glad I came back.
"It has taken me two years to come back - because I wanted to be ready first - and it was worth it, I haven't seen any bad comments about my performance!"
The X Factor 2016 auditions continue this Saturday and Sunday night on ITV.
