Louis Walsh has suggested that Simon Cowell needed persuading to get Sharon Osbourne back on The X Factor.
Chatting about the new series this week, Louis reveled he had to get Simon to "give in" and agree to sign Sharon up again.
Sharon and Simon have had a number of feuds in the past, with Sharon accusing Simon last year of being ageist when he dropped her former X Factor champ Sam Bailey.
But it seems as though Louis was able to mend the rifts, at least for now.
Speaking on ITV's This Morning to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, Louis explained: "I was canvassing. I wanted to get my own job first. Then I thought I would love Sharon, and Simon gave in on that."
Asked Simon had to be persuaded, Louis replied: "A little... he just had to be persuaded. Don't get me sacked again!
"So I got Sharon back, and then Sharon and I said we would love Nicole. We worked with her before and we knew how hard she works."
On why he was so desperate to get Nicole to replace Cheryl, Louis explained: "Cheryl was fine, she was really good. I just prefer Nicole.
"Her work ethic. She just works.
"She'll want three people in the final this year. She gets it. She's on it. She sings, she dances. She really mentors, over and above."
The X Factor 2016 continues Saturday and Sunday night on ITV with the new look panel.
