Freddy Parker has been named a "contender" to win The X Factor 2016 after his audition tonight.

Freddy has just turned 18-years-old and hails from Ashford.

"I'm a bit nervous but I'm really excited to get in there," said Freddy before his audition, who works with dogs for a living. "To perform in front of the judges today, it's scary but it could completely change my life."

Freddy performed a cover of Amy Winehouse's Love is A Losing Game for the judges to win a place in bootcamp.

"Freddy, you were born to do music," declared Louis Walsh after the performance.

Sharon Osborune branded him "very, very, cool" while Simon Cowell got goosebumps.

With four yeses, Freddy sailed through to next stage with Nicole Scherzinger tipping him to be a "contender".

Joining Freddy in bootcamp is Chanal Benjilali, a 17-year-old from Wandsworth in South West London.

Singing Lauryn Hill's Ex Factor, the youngster certainly easily won over the judges

"You've got such a great R&B voice for such a young age," Nicole Scherzinger raved.

"I'M SAYING YES!" interjected Louis Walsh.

"I love you, I think you're great," said Simon to squeals from Chanal.

The X Factor 2016 auditions continue next Saturday and Sunday night on ITV.

And don't forget all new Xtra Factor LIVE which airs straight after on ITV2, hosted by Rylan Clark-Neal and Matt Edmondson.
