Louis Walsh reckons Nicole Scherzinger was right to ditch Cats to return as a judge on The X Factor 2016.
Nicole had been on the verge of signing up to appear in a Broadway production of the musical - until she changed her mind and decided to return to The X Factor.
Her U-turn angered Cats composer Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, who called her "crazy" and said: "Never mind, there'll be another girl on Broadway and Nicole will not get her Tony Award."
However, Nicole's fellow panellist Louis reckons she made exactly the right decision.
"Cats on Broadway or X Factor? The X Factor wins," he said. "She can do Cats on Broadway in 20 years time because she will still be gorgeous."
In an odd twist of fate, X Factor champion Leona Lewis ended up stepping in to replace Nicole in the role of Grizabella.
Nicole brought a touch of Cats to the ITV talent contest on Sunday's show, when she was seen duetting with contestant Kittipos Maspun after his audition didn't exactly go according to plan.
On why Nicole makes an amazing judge, Louis added: "She can sing, she can act, she can do anything.
"She can do a show for Lord Webber, the Pussycat Dolls and she can do a song with Drake, there’s no end to this girl’s talent. Vocally she’s amazing... and she looks OK too!"
The X Factor continues on Saturday at 8.15pm on ITV.
