Rebekah Ryan has made it through to Bootcamp on The X Factor 2016 - after Simon Cowell stopped her emotional audition halfway through.
The atmosphere was highly charged in the auditions room as Rebekah, 40, explained how she had a record deal in her teens, only to be dropped after she failed to hit the big time.
Things went from bad to worse for Rebekah when her first child tragically passed away from a rare disease.
Rebekah, now a single mum to her 7-year-old son, began her audition by singing Hozier's hit 'Take Me To Church' - but Simon eventually interrupt†ted her.
"This is all sounding very rushed to me," he said, with Nicole Scherzinger agreeing: "It felt a little desperate. We want to feel with you, not for you."
Simon gave her a second shot, asking her to sing 'Angel' by Sarah McLachlan, and she managed to win over the judges.
"I felt every word of that Rebekah, I really did," said Simon. "What you told me was very emotional, it was like watching you struggle with the song and every step of the way we were with you.
"You’re the kind of person I think is important to this competition because you need a break."
Sharon Osbourne was moved by the performance, gushing: "You came from an place of emotion, and when you started to tell your story… you’re gonna start me."
Nicole added: "When you hear your voice and your tone, it sounds experienced... you have to experience life to get to that place."
Rebekah received four yesses from the panel, securing her place at Bootcamp.
The X Factor continues next Saturday on ITV.
