Yes Lad are the VERY first act on The X Factor 2016 this year and hope to become the next big boy band.

Made up of Joel, Cian, Sonny, Lewis and Luke and aged 19-21, Yes Lad are from all around of the North West.

They've given up their jobs for The X Factor but why the name? They say: "Where we come from, when you see your mates, you say 'Yes, lad!" instead of Hello."

The five lads have even given themselves nicknames - including Dad Lad and Sexy Lad - and want to become a big Northern band.

"We're Northern scruffy lads who sing, it's about breaking out of that normal life and becoming the popstar we've always wanted to be," the group say.

The five piece have a LOT of support with them but they have to stay behind as the group head into the judges' rooms as they face Simon & Co.

Yes Lad hope to win over the panel with a cover of Justin Timberlake's Can’t Stop The Feeling

While Louis Walsh instantly likes them (gasp!), Sharon Osbourne thinks they lack a lead singer.

Will it be four yeses for the boys?

Tune in to the first episode of the new series of The X Factor this evening to watch the audition and all the reactions from the judges.

The X Factor 2016 auditions kick off tonight on ITV from 8PM and continue Sunday night at 8PM.
