Prince and David Bowie are set to be 'honoured' with themed weeks on The X Factor 2016 live shows.
While the new series of the singing contest has yet to even begin on TV, talk is already turning to the live finals this autumn.
According to The Sun newspaper, plans are being put in place for the themed weeks with Prince and Bowie set to have performances dedicated to them.
The tabloid reports that Louis Walsh is pushing the idea to get contestants to sing songs by the late musical legends.
"Simon is a big fan of Bowie and has never held back his admiration for him," a source said today. “But it’s actually Louis who has been pushing this.
"He thinks it would be a fitting tribute to both Prince and David who both sadly left us this year."
The insider added: "Also, both have a huge repertoire of hits so it'll give the contestants a wide range of songs to choose from.
"There's upbeat stuff and big ballads they can belt out too so it'll be fair on everyone."
However the source warned that "nothing is set in stone just yet" with months still to go until the first live show, usually in October time.
