Shayne Ward has been tipped to make a comeback on The X Factor later this year.
The former winner, who is the champ of the show's second season, has been linked to a role at judges' houses with Louis Walsh.
Reports suggest that Shayne may appear alongside former mentor Louis as part of the Irishman's 'crew' during the next stage of filming.
And Shayne may not be the only former X Factor star making a return for judges' houses soon.
It was reported at the weekend that Cheryl will be joining Simon Cowell at his judges' houses this year.
As it stands the panel have so far filmed the auditions, bootcamp and Six Chair Challenge with now six acts left in each category.
Apparently both Simon and show bosses think getting Cheryl on board for judges' houses could be a good move.
A source told the Daily Star on Sunday newspaper: "Both Cowell and ITV bosses are in agreement Cheryl would be the perfect person to help him pick his finalists.
"Everyone knows how well Cheryl and Simon work together on and off screen."
As yet nothing is confirmed for the judges' houses stage which isn't expected to begin filming for at least a few weeks yet.
Cheryl quit The X Factor earlier this year after a total of five series in order to focus on her music.
She said at the time: “I have had such an amazing experience being a judge on The X Factor . I have learnt so much and enjoyed nurturing talent but I’ve missed making music and am excited to be recording again.”
The X Factor is expected to start next month on ITV.
