The X Factor 2016 will bring back the fun, says returning judge Louis Walsh.
The X Factor veteran is back on the panel this summer having had a "year off".
He returns alongside other former judges Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osbourne, plus of course show boss Simon Cowell.
Putting the boot in to last year's series, Louis quipped this week: "It was the best thing ever, not to be there – especially when the ratings were down. It was great and I had a really good time.
“But this time around it’s just brilliant fun. It’s not like work anymore. We show up and we have a great time. We all know each other very well and we just, y’know, we have fun.”
Speaking to RTE Ten as auditions moved to Ireland for the very first time in five years, Louis continued to rave about the new look line up: “It’s going fantastic with the new judges. They’re the best.
"It’s fun, it’s like the way it used to be in year one and year two. We all get on incredibly well, Sharon and Nicole are brilliant. They’re just very funny.”
Louis is also happy about the return of the judges' rooms auditions, admitting he couldn't always hear people properly at the arenas.
We guess that excuses some of his choices from over the years...
“It’s all going really, really well. Dermot O’Leary’s back on board and it’s just the old team. Simon’s laughing an awful lot. It’s like the good old days,” Louis added.
The X Factor will be back on TV on ITV later this year.
