As had been rumoured, Roman Kemp is joining The X Factor this year as a digital presenter.

The radio DJ is a new member of this year's X Factor team, joining as the show's digital presenter hosting all online content for the show.

Roman will also be part of spin-off The Xtra Factor as the show’s resident social media reporter.

Roman said: “I'm so honoured to be able to be a part of a show I have grown up watching every week and one that has seen contestants become the world’s biggest superstars.

"Being able to work with and alongside ITV really is a dream come true and I am certain that this year is going to be sensational. I just can't wait to get started!”

The news follows announcements that Matt Edmondson AND Rylan Clark-Neal will be hosting the Xtra Factor this year, which has a brand new format.

The ITV2 series will air live EVERY weekend, including during the pre-recorded audition stages of the main show.

"Finally I’m coming back to where it all began! Not to sing, don't worry, I’m coming back as host of The Xtra Factor with the lovely Matt Edmondson," Rylan said earlier today.

He added: "I can’t wait to get back, I’m so excited to see everyone - and I’m a Scherzy boy! Nicole’s back as well, we’re gonna have a right old laugh!"

The X Factor and The Xtra Factor will return this autumn on ITV and ITV2.
