X Factor 2016 auditions see an engagement after duo sing for the judges

A duo singing for The X Factor 2016 judges at this year's auditions turned their performance into a proposal.

A male and female duo going before the panel at the room auditions in Manchester this week shocked the judges when the guy got down on one knee after their song.

A source revealed: “They told the judges they’ve only been together about six months but they moved in together after a few weeks."

They added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "It was all quite out of the blue at The X Factor, the man ended up proposing in front of the cameras and thankfully his girlfriend said yes.”

The audition is expected to feature when the new series returns in August, but while she said yes what did the judges say when it came to their audition? We'll have to wait and see!

Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh are on the panel this year and held the first auditions in Leicester last weekend.

One of those who impressed there was 'WAG' Rebecca Guthrie, the wife of former Premier League footballer Danny Guthrie.

The 27-year-old is hoping to make a name for herself in her own right and has been tipped as one to watch on The X Factor this year.

Rebecca is said to have blown the judges away with her performance as auditions return to the more intimate room venues.

The new series of The X Factor begins on ITV later in the year.
