Josh Daniel has reportedly been invited back to audition for The X Factor again.
However it's been claimed that he's turned down the offer in order to release his own music later this summer.
Josh made it through to judges' houses on last year's series having reduced Simon Cowell to tears at the auditions with his cover of Labrinth hit Jealous.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper this weekend: “He was contacted a few weeks ago and he was really flattered that the show wanted him back but he’s really happy with the way things have gone since last year."
They added: “He’s worked with Jay Z’s record label Roc Nation and is focusing all his attention on writing a debut album. "
The source also says that Josh turned down ITV2's Love Island in order to work on his upcoming record.
“He’s built up a huge following since the series and is thankful of the profile the show gave him but wants to go it alone," the source concluded.
Josh released his cover of Jealous from The X Factor back in April for download and will be putting out his own music later this year.
He revealed recently: "People can hear more of the original stuff the back end of summer.
"I do want to show people that as much as I can put across an emotional message, I do have a broad writing style... I'm excited for people to learn who I am and hear my different styles of music."
