Spice Girl Mel B has said she'd love to make a return to The X Factor.

The singer previously appeared on the UK show as a guest judge in 2012 and then as a full time panelist in 2014.

Mel's since appeared on The Voice in Australia and America's Got Talent, so could another stint on The X Factor be on the cards?

Speaking on ITV's Lorraine this morning, Mel said she was open to an offer from Simon Cowell.

"I’d always love to be part of the X Factor it was a great show," she said.

Mel added: "Is there a space? This happens every year, it’s always up in the air.

"He's not daft he knows what he’s doing."

As things stand there are a trio of free spots on The X Factor 2016 judging line up after Cheryl, Nick Grimshaw and Rita Ora ALL quit.

Rita confirmed yesterday: "I had a ball on @TheXFactor last year and will miss the team."

It's left only Simon behind the judges' desk although rumours suggest replacements have already been set up for the empty chairs.

Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger have all been tipped to make a comeback in a throwback to the 2013 series.

However as yet no official confirmation has been made about any judges for this year's series.

The X Factor will air on ITV later this year.
