X Factor star Josh Daniel has warned this year's contestants that the show is tougher than it looks on telly.
Josh made it through to judges' houses on last year's series having reduced Simon Cowell to tears at the auditions with his cover of Labrinth hit Jealous.
Now preparing to release his own music, Josh has ruled out a return to the show and warned that the series was far tougher than it came across on the telly.
He said: "These shows make stars, it's what they're notorious for. It is reality TV, to a lot of the young ones who don't really understand what it's like to be integrated in that kind of industry, it is tough and its very different from what it looks like on TV."
Josh told BANG! Showbiz: "It was one of those things when I did the performance I shut off a little bit and at the end of the song I kind of opened my eyes and I was back in the room.
"I really got lost in the message that I was trying to put across when I sang that song."
Josh released his cover of Jealous earlier this month for download and will be putting out his own music later this year.
He revealed: "People can hear more of the original stuff the back end of summer.
"I do want to show people that as much as I can put across an emotional message, I do have a broad writing style... I'm excited for people to learn who I am and hear my different styles of music."
