Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden almost ended up on The X Factor, it's been revealed.
Oh, and David Walliams too.
While The X Factor has struggled to find a winning line up of judges in recent years, BGT's panel has been a huge success.
Alesha, Amanda, David and Simon Cowell have been behind the judges' desk for the last five years and this Spring will celebrate Britain's Got Talent's landmark tenth series together.
In a chat with this week's Radio Times magazine, Simon admitted he had considered using the same judges for both BGT and X Factor.
“I’ve got to admit it – I think the four of us on the panel is about as good as we’re ever going to get," he declared of the Britain's Got Talent line up (sorry Cheryl and Louis!), "We actually even considered transferring them all on to X Factor at one point."
Alesha in particular had originally been lined up for The X Factor but Simon says that things “didn’t work out”.
As for what Simon has planned for the judges on The X Factor this year, he wasn't giving much away but did hint we could see some comebacks.
With nothing confirmed yet, the music mogul said: “There have been times with X Factor – now that I’ve had the chance to rethink what happened last year and the years before – where we had that chemistry and lost it by trying to change too much."
Britain's Got Talent is back on TV this Saturday night on ITV while X Factor returns in the autumn.
